New BHG Client Aims at Preventing Alzheimer’s

Almost everyone has a family member or knows of someone suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease. More than six million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s, and by 2050 that number is projected to more than double to 13 million. Today Alzheimer’s Disease is one of the top three causes of death and yet has no cure.

The solution to this growing problem, however, may lie not in a cure, but in prevention. Clinical research has identified the type of lifestyle changes we can all make to reduce the risk of experiencing dementia as we age. For the growing surge of Baby Boomers and their kids, this is news worthy of their full attention.

Jessica Delgado, founder of Encode Wellness, has engaged The Bloodhound Group to help communicate this news of hope to those of us who fear the devastation Alzheimer’s brings to both individuals and their families. Encode Wellness offers an immersive, on-site holistic approach to managing risk factors for dementia, including inflammation, insulin resistance, poor energetics and oxygenation, toxicity and lack of brain stimulation. The plan is personalized for each client and includes online follow-up and community support.

Delgado is also out to shift the public conversation about the presumed inevitability of Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia as people age. “This is a large-scale social trend I would like to chip away at. I want to change the narrative to let people know there are lots of things you can do, and the sooner the better,” she explains. “The pervasive belief that nothing can be done prevents people from seeking help at the critical early stages, during which the odds of successful intervention are highest.”

The Bloodhound Group will work with Delgado and her team to launch Encode Wellness this summer and help shape the crusade to change the narrative around dementia and Alzheimer’s from one of personal despair to empowerment.

Ann Wilson and Greg Naderi of The Bloodhound Group are coordinating with Delgado to develop messaging to prospective clients and investors.
